Féile Brian Ború 2009 : Events : Saturday 4th July

From 10am – 1pm – Sporting Fun – Ballina GAA Pitch
Ballina GAA Juvenile Club will host a morning of
sporting fun with skills, long puck, etc.

Celtic Village   From 10am- 6pm – Canoe Polo Killaloe Cup
Teams from all over the country battle it out over two days to become Killaloe Cup Champions. For further information, check out:

11am – Children’s Art Competition - Killaloe Library
Followed by Entertainment with the hilariously funny Fanzini Brothers,
judging and prize giving – Killaloe Library.

 
11:30am & 3:30pm – Guided Tours of St. Flannan’s Cathedral, Killaloe.

12pm – 4pm – Craft Market – Between the Waters
Local crafts including jewellery, woodcraft, art & fair trade goods.

12pm – 4pm – The Brian Ború Da Vinci Code Quest – start point: The Lakeside Hotel
An exciting Treasure Hunt based on Brian Ború and the historical towns of Killaloe with a Da Vinci Code Theme. A fun filled way to learn about this legends heritage. Adults: €10, Children (under 12) €5, Family ticket: €25. Available from the Lakeside Hotel

Parade   12pm – 5pm – Animal Magic – Cathedral Quay, Killaloe.
A display of animals including Hawks, Falcons and Owls, Snakes, Lizards and more, giving you the opportunity to get up close and personal with a multitude of amazing creatures at close quarters and to learn more about their lifestyles. Check out their web site www.animalmagic.ie
 
 

12pm – 8pm – Plectrum Youth Music Festival – Smith O’Brien’s GAA field, Killaloe.
The Festival is being organised by EMC Youth Group Scarriff & Killaloe/Ballina Youth Initiative.
This is a music festival organised by young people for young people.
It is an under age gig (14+ yrs) with bands from all over Ireland participating.
Tickets cost €10 & will be available from on the gate.

Parade   4pm – 5pm - Be Part of The Parade - Ballina Quay (in front of Flanagans & Molly’s)
Calling all children! Come along to get your costume & props, participate in music workshops and be part of this years wonderful children’s parade. It’s that simple! Great fun to be had by all the family, everyone welcome!

6pm – Meet the Fanzini Brothers – The Green, Killaloe
We welcome the hilariously funny Fanzini Brothers back to Killaloe/Ballina this year. Prepare to be astonished as they perform their new show Canonball Circus. With no expense spared, with no concern for their safety, they laugh in the face of danger. A treat for all who participated in the Parade!

We Welcome Rocket Pyrotechnics Ireland back to Killaloe/Ballina again this year to showcase a stunning Firework display over our beautiful river Shannon to celebrate Féile Brian Ború 2009.
 
Saturday Parking Restrictions –
For safety to all participating in & watching the events and to ensure ease of running we ask everyone to co-operate with the parking restrictions.

The Green, Killaloe
• From 5:30pm onwards on Sat 4th July to facilitate the Children’s Parade and evening performances
Main Street, Killaloe
• From 5:30 – 6:30pm on Sat 4th July to facilitate the Children’s Parade
Between the Waters (lower end of Car Park)
• From 10am on Sat 4th to facilitate Craft Market and Killaloe Farmers Market
Through traffic by Molly’s & Flanagan’s
Please exercise EXTREME CAUTION from 4 – 5pm on Sat 4th July to facilitate the Children’s Parade assembly.
